I taught a class with CGMA and this was a large part of the content. We covered the creation of a digital double from reference imagery. I decided to do a self portrait as the demonstration. It was a fun exercise in modeling and sculpting. I shot all of the photographic reference for the modeling portion and then shot a second round of reference with a cross polarized light setup to be used for texture painting.

Sculpted in Mudbox, high frequency bump painting in mudbox as well. Texture painting was in Mudbox and I used ZBrush fibermesh for hair. Final rendering was done with Marmoset Toolbag 2. I post processed it with Photoshop and Lightroom.
